The holiday season is the perfect time to try your hand at something completely new – and utterly delicious!
Did you know that Colorado Lamb is considered to be some of the best in the world? Often, what we’re more accustomed to is lamb that’s imported from far, far away. And truth be told, it’s not really lamb – it’s mutton. That means that the animal is older, and therefore the taste is much stronger. If that’s what you like, there’s nothing wrong with that. But the flavors of locally raised, true lamb are something far and away superior.
We’re very lucky in Boulder County to be home to some exceptional farm-raised (and often pasture-raised) all-natural lamb. In this class we’ll explore the differences between lamb from different sources, where to buy what you’re really looking for, and how to cook it so that you get rave reviews. And best of all? We’ll focus on letting the quality of the ingredients shine – so we’ll cover very simple recipes that you can easily replicate.
You’ll get to help prepare (and eat) a great, and super-simple lamb roast. And you’ll get recipes for additional lamb dishes. We’ll talk about the best cooking methods and some easy side dishes. We’ll make at least 1 side, and there just might be a little holiday treat involved.
